Accountability is one of those things you don't think about until something goes wrong. A cash drawer that's short at the end of the night. A discount that nobody remembers applying. A refund that doesn't quite add up. The Till Journal is our answer to all of it: a complete, chronological record of everything that happens on your POS throughout the day.

Every transaction, every void, every discount, every paid out, every cash drawer open. It's all there, timestamped and attributed to the staff member who performed it. Think of it as a flight recorder for your till. You can scroll through it in real time during service, or review it at the end of the day to reconcile anything that looks off.

The journal is designed to be scannable. Each entry has a clear icon and colour coding: sales in green, voids and cancellations in amber, refunds in red, cash movements in blue. You can see at a glance what's happened in the last hour without reading every line. Tap any entry for the full detail: items, prices, payment method, the lot.

For managers and owners, this is a game-changer for remote oversight. Combined with our real-time sync engine, the journal updates live. You can check in from the back office or even your phone and see exactly what's happening on the floor right now. No more ringing the bar to ask "has it been busy?"

We deliberately kept this feature accessible from the Options menu on the POS (and it's available as a function bar button too, so you can have it one tap away). It's not hidden behind admin permissions because we think transparency makes teams stronger. That said, if you want to restrict it to managers only, the security settings let you do exactly that.
